Vacay, the all-natural, refreshing, alcoholic seltzer has hit Australian shores – and with less than 62 calories in every can, Vacay is set to become the taste of summer! The premium spiked sparkling water is 100% Australian made and owned and the first of its kind to have a sommelier working on its light, crisp, clean flavour.

Research has shown that consumers are looking for options that will improve their overall wellbeing, which is one of the macro trends impacting behaviour and choice, along with taste preferences.

Founder James McPhie said: “I noticed a category gap in the current Australian liquor market. From a wellbeing perspective there is no one liquor category that categorically delivers all the consumers wants. Any new drink needs to be ‘better for you’, low in calories, and consumers are seeking hydration as much as refreshment.”

With this in mind, McPhie brought on operations expert Amanda Schafer and one of Australia’s leading and award-winning sommeliers, Alex Kirkwood, to develop a low calorie, unique and crisp palate. With no other seltzer company using a sommelier to develop its taste, this team are serious about the quality and its appeal.

Kirkwood aid: “In the US the category has continued to explode. We saw the opportunity to do something different here in Australia and are really excited by what we’ve developed – our points of difference set us in an incredibly exciting position!”

The seltzer comes in four flavours: Raspberry, Lime, Pure, and Kakadu Plum. The taste is fresh, clean and without any added sugar.

Brewed off a malt base, Vacay is turned into alcoholic water with the artificial colours and preservatives removed, then infused with all-natural ingredients, before being carbonated.

For those wanting guilt free enjoyment – Vacay stands out as the drink of choice with its reduced sugar, low calories and carbs, especially when compared to the likes of a Gin & Tonic (155 calories), vodka & soda (135 cals), pale ale beer (182 cals) and Aperol Spritz (120 cals).
